• Operate the machinery allocated to him/her in such a way that material and explosives are supplied safely and within time without damage to the machinery. Ensure that the transporting of the material and explosives are according to approved procedures.
• Report breakdowns and problems regarding material availability. Take responsibility for all activities under his/her control regarding safety. Ensure all Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
• Operate the mining equipment to achieve production requirements. Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery. Continuously observe / monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
• Report breakdowns/ damages timeously to the Control Room Operator.
• Take care and do minor maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Safe delivery and handling / charging of explosives and emulsion.
• Ensure delivery and handling / charging of explosives according to Standard Operating Procedure.
• Ensure only designated areas are used to park vehicle with explosives.
• Record position of vehicle and defects at end of shift in Logbook.
• Adhere to Key Control Procedure.
