Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement cost-effective purchasing strategies for materials used in the business.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while actively seeking new vendors.
Evaluate purchasing operations, enhance product quality, and ensure timely delivery.
Regularly communicate with senior management on the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
Conduct cost analyses and improve payment and delivery terms, stockholding, and turnaround times.
Develop risk management procedures to prevent product shortages and maintain a comprehensive Business Continuity & Recovery plan.
Supervise a purchasing team and consumable inventory teams, delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
Work closely with the legal department to ensure procurement contracts are favorable and compliant with group policies.
Candidate Requirements:
Tertiary qualification (BCOM or equivalent) in Financial Management or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing.
At least 3 years of team management experience.
Strong ability to work under pressure and meet ambitious deadlines.
Must have own transport and a valid driver's license.
Willingness to travel between sites.
Fluency in both Afrikaans and English is essential.
High proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
