SFG Engineering

Main Purpose
▪ Formulate quotations related to “Non-Standard” and special motors and accessories to internal and external customers
▪ Ensure that assigned requests for quotations are executed accurately and timeously
▪ Assist external and internal customers with technical queries.

Quotations and Orders
◼ Compile quotations on required templates to suite company and customer requirements, focusing on contents and lay-out
◼ Creating of SAP material codes for motors with “Special” or “Optional” features
◼ Compile accurate Cost calculations, Data sheets and drawings on internal software systems (FDC, Assom, PYOTM and SAP)
◼ Log on to SYSPRO to find account details and checking for discount and payment terms
◼ Review customer specifications to ensure compliance
◼ Search through previous contract files as necessary to highlight technical and commercial requirements
◼ Perform electrical and mechanical calculations as required
◼ Continuously keeping the customer abreast in terms of progress and delivery of quotations
◼ Negotiate orders when needed
◼ Make a list of outstanding work, draw up an action plan, work-in-progress and check emails for incoming orders and requests for quotations
◼ Liaise with the engineering department at Brazil, India, China, Portugal as necessary
◼ Compile requirements for quotes for special motors
◼ Hand over orders as a contract file to the projects department – attend discussion and negotiation meetings.

◼ Continuously improve internal systems and procedures
◼ Share technical knowledge – formal and informal training.

Qualifications and Experience
◼ Computer literacy – proficient in Microsoft Office software
◼ Diploma (Electrical or Mechanical)
◼ Matric with minimum N3 certificate (Electrical or Mechanical qualification)
◼ Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
◼ Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

◼ Ability to pay close attention to detail and co-ordinate various activities simultaneously
◼ Ability to work well in a team setting
◼ Good telephone manner
◼ Must have excellent technical skills
◼ Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations
◼ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
◼ The ability to work under pressure

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
◼ Days to quote, within 3 days from receipt of request to quote
◼ Hit rate on quotations to be more than 12%
◼ Averaged quotes per day through the year 3
◼ Days to handover, within 3 days from order.

Working Conditions
◼ Office based
◼ Required to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
