Job Overview:
A vacancy exists for a Planning Manager in the Corrugated division, responsible for overseeing the planning processes and ensuring efficient operations in a manufacturing environment. The role involves managing paper stock, optimizing production schedules, and driving cost-saving initiatives, among other key responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 with Mathematics
Computer literacy
National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Cost & Management Accounting, or Logistics (NQF Level 6)
Degree in Production Management (NQF Level 7) would be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
Ensure that all paper requirements are met at the plant level
Oversee paper stock control, ensuring adherence to minimum and maximum levels
Accurately manage stock, working to reduce or eliminate paper shortages
Plan processes to minimize waste and increase deckling efficiencies (Trim Waste %)
Communicate proactively and effectively with paper suppliers and internal stakeholders
Identify and implement paper cost-saving measures and initiatives
Ensure compliance with standards required by external authorization bodies to maintain accreditations
Ensure production and sales teams have a clearly defined plan to follow
Schedule machines to optimize throughput
Manage work-in-progress (WIP)
Reduce board grades to enhance efficiency
Synchronize dispatch to align with production
Manage stock levels efficiently
