MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and deliver an over-arching industrial relations strategy with the key focus on modernising Trade Union relationships Own and develop relationships with senior officials Support the Head of HR, People Business Partners and line managers in negotiations with Trade Unions on a wide range of company issues Design and develop IR policy, processes and tools to deliver required changes at all levels of the organisationSet direction, create policy and offer expert advice in all matters relating to collective bargaining and corporate-wide industrial relations issuesNegotiate mandates for use across all bargaining groupsBuild IR skills and expertise across the People department, including capabilities in employment legislation and industrial agreements Co-ordinate and integrate all IR activity across the business into a coherent plan Support and align cultural and behavioural change necessary for all corporate IR programmes Foster strong links with external networks and share best practices in the field of Industrial RelationsProvide a dedicated IR advisory service to management, line managers and employeesEnsure that all policies, procedures and employment legislation are adhered to Advise on, facilitate, execute and implement the applicable IR practices, policies and procedures relating to disciplinary cases, grievances, consultations and conflict and dispute resolution, absence management, identifying risks and providing assistance with preventative measuresEnsure compliance with Labour Legislation such as the Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Compensation for Occupational Health & Safety Act, etcEnsure compliance with Labour Legislation in respect of all service providers MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Relevant tertiary qualification in HR / IR (NQF level 6)Experience presenting in Labour Court 5 to 10 years IR experienceExtensive knowledge, experience and understanding of IR within a SA contextComputer LiteracyExcellent knowledge of current Labour LawDemonstrated experience of CCMA and Labour CourtKnowledge and practice, policies and proceduresWritten and verbal contractsExpress and implied ethical responsibilities
