Laboratory Analyst (Shift Work)Reference: DBN003529-RC-1 A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Laboratory Analyst (shift work) to perform chemical testing on Finished Product and Water Samples. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Ensures that the samples received agree to the Production Program and label copy. Ensures the correct procedures are followed. All results are correctly calculated to determine acceptability. Ensures samples are taken at the correct process steps and released timeously. Ensures that the monthly water points are sampled and tested timeously. Tests finished products using current pharmacopoeias/SOP associated with ‘wet’ chemistry and instrumental techniques (HPLC, IR, UV, AA, FTIR, Flame photometer etc.), as appropriate. Initiates an out of specification investigation form and reports failing results to the Supervisor/Manager during failures. Ensures that equipment is calibrated and validated before use by checking the calibration. Ensure that samples after analysis are defaced and discarded in the waste area. Determines whether results are acceptable and liaises with Supervisor/Manager to determine if resampling/retesting is required. Performs duties deemed necessary by Superior. Assists in the investigation of out of specification results. Ensures compliance to limits on the Analytical reports. Tests customer complaints as and when required. Requirements BSc Degree or National Diploma in Chemistry.2-3 years Lab experience in Pharmaceutical Industry. HPLC experience in Pharmaceuticals Quality Control Laboratory will be an advantage. Verbal and written communication skills. Team Player. Able to achieve and maintain high standards with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to work accurately and adhering to strict deadlines/timelines. Highly proficient in the use of key analytical equipment (HPLC, IR, UV, etc.) for finished products and water testing. Good Documentation Practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
