Description

The Dyehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the technical and administrative functions in the Dyehouse with the aim of producing and delivering on time the right quality fabric as per set KPIs and as per pre-determined customer standards.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the Supervisors/Shift-Leaders and office staff in the Dyehouse and managing the Colour Lab Manager and team.
• Working closely with the Planning department on the dyeing priorities.
• Maximising the Capacity utilisation of the Dyehouse, whilst minimising down time through direct relationships with the Engineering team.
• Ensure productivity target is achieved.
• Scheduling the timely running of production lots and rushes according to machine size, allocation dates, and colours.
• To achieve a 100% target on delivery dates and quantities.
• Manage the department as a cost centre.
• Build up the best fit team in the dyeing department.
• Ensure that the set SOPs are followed.
• Uphold discipline standards which are aligned to the company operation.
• Working with all Chemical Suppliers to improve cost and availability of Dye Chemicals as required.
• Signing off costs of all produced by the Colour Lab before implementation to Bulk.
• Reviewing and reporting daily/monthly Production and delivery report to Management.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Conversant with the latest Dyeing Technologies and Supervisory Tools.
• Conversant with all dyeing techniques in Knits.
• Good knowledge of finishing of fine knits.
• Knowledge in Production Planning and Lean Management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Must be data driven in analytical approach to solving problems and improving system.
• Results oriented.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• B. Tech in Textile Technology/ Textile Chemistry or relevant tertiary dyeing qualification
• Have excellent Colour matching, recipe creation and problem solving skills with a background in Colour Physics.
• Expertise in Processing all kinds of knit and woven fabrics in Polyester
• Previous experience in the textile industry a must.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior managerial position.
• Fluent in English.
