Product Support Engineer – Data Analytics Job Function: Programs & Services Business Unit: Wabtec Digital Mine Reports to: Support Manager, Digital Mine Location: Johannesburg, South Africa Who will you be working with?Our Program & Services team at Wabtec Digital Mine, a rapidly growing services function in a Mining Technology business dedicated to delivering world class services to our clients.

How will you make a difference?As a member of the Program & Services group, you will be responsible for supporting our Mining Technology products, focusing on using the data collected by the system to provide analysis and recommendations to customers in order to aid decision-making and improved system configuration.

You will work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams, advocating for the customer in prioritization discussions and product functionality and planning reviews.

You will be early adopters of new technology, with your feedback helping to shape ongoing development improvements.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization, and will transform data into readable, goal-oriented reports that drive innovation and growth.

What do we want to know about you?Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering)Proven experience with data analytics and visualization tools Sound knowledge of current network and communications technology Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, problem solve and manage resolution to technical system issues Experience with Linux administration, Microsoft Server, IIS, and SQL Server Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Customer service focus with a strong work ethic Ability to work unsupervised and manage multiple priorities Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation Desired Characteristics: Flexibility with work hours to accommodate varying time zones A current driver’s license is required What will your typical day look like?Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies Develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data Identify trends and opportunities for system improvements through analysis of complex datasets Work with customer representatives to define and document system requirements Configure the system to operate according to agreed customer requirements Deliver ongoing configuration changes to the system Support firmware, software, and configuration updates Perform services as defined by SLAs, both in the office and on site as required, ensuring high quality documentation is captured Provide first-line technical support for customers and partners Adopt new software releases and provide feedback on issues or improvements Successful candidates will be employed under local employment conditions and must already satisfy local employment/work permit and residency regulations.#LI-AB1 Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
