Turn-Key Industrial Automation industry’s Sales Representative for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC for hardware and Software)
Permanent Position | Based in Gauteng
Must be willing to relocate near the Company - essential
Must have a Matric - required
Must have relevant Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation (preferred).
Must have a Driver’s License - essential
Must have 3–5 years’ experience in Sales within Industrial Automation or related Engineering Solutions.
Knowledge of brands such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider, ABB, or similar (advantageous).
Must be prepared to travel to existing and new External Clients/ Customers to bring in Sales.
Will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, promoting automation solutions (such as PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, drives, instrumentation, and control systems)
Experience doing Sales for the Industrial engineering sectors, automotive, Mining, FMCG, Manufacturing, Utilities (Electricity, Gas, Water), OR related engineering industries etc.
Will be responsible for building strong technical relationships with clients across manufacturing, engineering, industrial and process environments.
The role requires both technical understanding and strong commercial skills to identify customer needs and recommend the right automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and engage potential customers in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, mining, FMCG, automotive, and utilities. Promote and sell automation products and solutions including PLCs, SCADA/HMI software, VSDs, control panels, robotics, instrumentation and process control equipment. Conduct product presentations, site visits, and technical discussions with engineers, technicians, and plant managers. Understand customer processes and provide tailored automation solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and safety. Prepare technical quotations, proposals, and tenders in collaboration with the engineering team. Negotiate pricing and contract terms to close sales deals. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and support long-term partnerships. Monitor competitors, industry trends, and new market opportunities. Work closely with internal technical, projects and support teams to ensure accurate product delivery and customer satisfaction. Leads generated by marketing team. Track sales activities, pipeline status, and meet monthly/quarterly sales targets and KPI metrics. Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows, and client workshops.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical understanding of automation, electrical or control systems. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Customer-focused with strong relationship-building ability. Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications (advantageous). Target-driven with strong business development mindset. Good planning, CRM usage, and reporting skills.
Will need to start work immediately in November and December in 2025 and January 2026 and going forward in 2026
Monthly salary to be discussed (** Salary package is dependent on skills, Qualifications and years of relevant experience only**) + Discretionary Annual Performance Bonus – Commission to be discussed.
