Job Responsibilities
To maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standard
Control Maintenance costs according to the budget
Purchasing of Spares and Equipment
Manage projects
Liaison with suppliers
Implementation of all Safety aspects within the Plant
Investigate and make recommendations with regard to improved performance of plant and machinery
Must be strong on decision making and problem solving, finding ways to improve efficiency of an operation
Manage artisans with regards to performance, discipline, etc.
Training and development of staff
Stand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when required
Dealing with all Engineering aspects within the department, e.g. planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance and stock levels of spare parts.
Inherent Job Requirements:
Tolerance for stress and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Good problem solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
Ability to work independently. Desired Experience & Qualifications
Educational & Training Requirements:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or trade tested Mechanical Fitter
A certificate or diploma in supervisory management and/or a proven track record in a similar position
Experience Required:
A minimum of 5 years in a similar position
Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience
