Job Purpose:
Responsible for the smooth running of the Inbound warehouse operations by overseeing all the warehouse activities; ensuring targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety regulations are adhered to.
Daily Operations:
Ensure daily targets for the inbound shift are met;
Assume full control of the inbound facility, ensuring safety, security, hygiene, and compliance with quality and food safety standards;
Implement efficient warehouse layout and organisation to optimise space utilisation;
Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of resources and capacity to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives;
Work with the supply and demand planner to address inbound issues in a timely and cost-effective manner;
Ensure supplier deliveries are received, inspected, verified, processed on the system, and allocated accordingly;
Monitor and maintain quality standards, ensuring products meet required specifications;
Maintain a stock rotation on an inventory based on FEFO (First Expiry First Out) principle;
Manage shelf life to ensure no short dated and/or expired material and/or products are received or picked;
Ensure expired and reject stock are dealt with on a timely basis and according to necessary standards;
Work with Quality control team to ensure products are on the acceptable industry standard;
Manage the safe storage, exchanging and flow of RTT pallets;
Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the shift;
Collaborate with other Shift Leaders to ensure seamless operation.
Daily reporting:
Prepare shift reports detailing any issues encountered, and resolutions;
Ensure the full functioning and use of Shopware to capture and monitor operational activities.
Manage Team Performance :
Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers during the shift;
Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff;
Manage team performance and conduct regular performance reviews;
Develop, implement and ensure all SOPs are adhered to.
Safety Protocol
Ensure all machinery and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions;
Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers adhere to safety guidelines;
Ensure proper maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols
Educational Qualifications:
Relevant qualification or diploma in supply chain or logistics
Knowledge and Experience:
At least 5 years’ work experience in a similar role in a factory/ warehouse setting.
Experience in a food manufacturing industry.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
Understanding of warehouse operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, presentation Outlook).
