JOB PURPOSE The incumbent is responsible for planning and directing financial accounting, budgeting, cost benefit analysis and other fiscal operations and functions.
This includes maintaining, analysing and reporting financial and operational accounting data, developing appropriate accounting and operational systems, establishing necessary financial and operational controls and ensuring all activities conform to statutory legislation (incl IFRS, Taxation Regulations and other applicable legislation) and company policies and procedures RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting and Budgets: Consolidation of Group Reporting.
Preparation of group consolidated budgets and forecast.
Assist with preparation of reports to the board.
Assist with transfer pricing reporting.
Work with auditors to complete interim and year end reporting as well as ad hoc projects.
Financial Management & Control: Preparation of the interim and final financial statements.
Review of operating company’s financial information (including monthly reporting pack, budgets and forecasts).
Review of operating companies tax computations.
Creation, maintaining and distribution of statutory packs.
Statutory packs to be up to date with all latest IFRS, Companies Act, Tax Act, JSE requirements and other statutory requirements.
Ensure reporting compliance with all statutory requirements (IFRS, Companies Act, JSE etc.) Assisting operating companies to achieve statutory reporting compliance (including income tax and VAT).
Assisting operating companies with completion of all statutory submissions.
Obtain a solid understanding of operating companies and results including variances to budget.
Develop, implement and maintain internal financial controls where required by identifying and assessing risks in conjunction with the internal-and external auditors.
Financial Modeling: New initiatives, scenario planning, etc.
where applicable.
Data Collection & Analysis: Preparation of various monthly analysis schedules.
Due Diligence: Due diligence on mergers and acquisitions if required.
