Salary: R840 000 - R960 000p.a.
Job Purpose: To manage all financial aspects of the company to ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory and legislative requirements and to support the various business departments in ensuring financial strategy of the company is met.
Position: As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company.
The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.
This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, deal / tender analysis and negotiations, investor financial relationships and partnership compliance as well as institutional financing.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities for the financial team : - Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company - Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
The following responsibilities of the finance division will be included: Debtor Management Creditor Management Management reporting and budgets Cash flow and liquidity management Payroll management HR Management Financial analysis Person profile – CFO Personality: Self-driven, result oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.

Able to work extended hours on occasions if and when required, including weekends.
Due to the nature of the position a clean credit profile is required.
A valid and unendorsed driving license, are required.
Specific Job Skills : Able to prepare and present financial reports to senior management team and Board of Directors.
Understands GAAP principles and must have dealt with financial reporting up and including balance sheet.
Understands the principles of financial ratios and benchmarking Computer skills : Knowledge and experience in the utilisation of MS Office application would be required as well as, Internet and email.
High level of proficiency in the current financial system Pastel and VIP payroll is a prerequisite.
Literacy and Numeracy: Able to understand financial analysis, profit and loss calculations and high level business finance e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, tax and dividend calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc.
Must be a competent financial report writer in order to prepare and present management reports, quotations and other financial requirements.
Business Skills : Must be excellent in verbal and written communicating with all business departments including Board of Directors.
Able to demonstrate success and experience in managing the full financial management function of the company within the limitations and regulatory environment.
Ideal background would be in small business financial management, experience in tenders and data management would also be useful.
Management Ability: Initially, this position would be the financial department in totality.
In time, this would grow with certain junior functions reporting into these positions.
Some people-management skills, experience and natural ability will be useful.
Minimum entry requirements for Financial Manager - Financial degree e.g.
B Com Accounting or Audit or equivalent - Minimum of 5 – 8 years experience in managing full financial function of a company up to Balance Sheet.
