CANTEEN MANAGERINTRODUCTIONWe are looking for someone with at least 5 years experience in hospitality and Catering and well developed Leadership skillsThe canteens prepare food for a minimum of 150 pax daily.Duties & ResponsibilitiesReporting to the (CEO), the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the two canteens (Midrand & Germiston) within the companys operation and the achievement of applicable standards and financial results.Financial: Satisfied ShareholdersEnsure that all products are correctly costedEnsure that waste in the department is minimizedEnsure that the budgeted food cost is maintained or improvedManage staffing costs to within the budgeted parametersCustomer Service: Delighted CustomersEnsure that the Culinary offering is constantly updated to reflect the needs and desires of the marketEnsures a high level of positive customer contact is maintained, by the canteens, in every food and beverage outletTo ensure that healthy service relationships are built with all other canteensPROCESSES: Effective ProcessesMenu planning for all menus (together with the other Canteen Manager and CEO)Responsible for the timely preparation of all menus in all outletsEnsures that all reporting deadlines are adhered toCreates the canteens annual budgetAssists the Office Manager to manage quality, variety and price of raw materialsPlans canteen leave rostersLearning and Growth: Motivated and Prepared WorkforceTakes time to share knowledge, creativity and skill with other chefs including developing a successorTakes responsibility for own learning and growthDevelop and nurturing of interpersonal relationships (with colleagues and suppliers) To lead the canteen teams in a manner that maximises engagement and motivation,Deals with all work performance and misconduct incidents in a manner that reflects the companys values, while ensuring that appropriate corrective measures are effectively implemented,Recruits new team members in a manner that assures the correct fit for the company with regard to values, service and work ethic, and skill levelINNOVATIONActively seeks innovative ways to reduce cost and increase salesActively seeks innovative methods to create unique culinary offeringsGENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIESHas a thorough knowledge of food products and offeringsHas a thorough knowledge of the canteen and all services provided to the customersMaintains the high standard of service, appearance and social skills set according to the company policyWorks in harmony with all canteen staff and employees, is willing to assist others if and when required,Attends all training workshops as and when requiredIs familiar with all food handling policies and procedures, house rules, fire, security and emergency procedures as well as all checklists pertaining to the position Read More...
