TB HIV Care seeks a diligent and highly experienced Project Coordinator who will be based in OR Tambo district. The organisation offers a competitive total cost of employment package. The successful candidate will form part of a project team supporting community partners in the implementation of community interventions to raise awareness and support access to services for lung and common other cancers. Purpose: The incumbent will lead, manage, coordinate and be accountable for the development and implementation of The Eastern Cape Collaborative Community Cancer Initiative. The Project Coordinator oversees operational research activities and provides support and mentorship for community-based organisations. Minimum requirements: - Bachelors degree in nursing, health sciences, social science or relevant field - Experience in public health - Knowledge and experience of oncology - At least 5 years Project Management experience - Data management and reporting experience - Valid code 8 drivers licence - Intermediate/advanced level computer skills (MS Office) - Proficiency in English and IsiXhosa languages Key responsibilities: - Coordinates operational research, monitoring and evaluation and reporting, including financial reporting - Ensures that all staff management and training is conducted as per the requirements from either THC and/or BMSF - Inducts all new staff and ensures that they are aware of protocols, policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Builds strong coordinating relationships with stakeholder organisations and helps facilitate and coordinate communication between NMAH Oncology unit and CBOs - Supports the development of a community programme - Identifies and collaborates with regional service providers to facilitate effective bi-directional referrals and supports navigation activities - Manages regional stakeholders and ensures engagement for successful programme implementation - Supports other THC teams and activities across the region - Provides technical assistance and conducts capacity building activities with partner organisations - Supports CBOs with the development/maintenance of tools/databases to assist with data analysis and reporting Competencies, skills and knowledge: - Excellent attention to detail, including attentive listening skills - Excellent employee management skills, with ability to manage field-based employees - Good organisational skills and able to balance team and individual responsibilities - Innovative and resourceful; able to adapt to situations and find creative ways to perform tasks - Motivated and dependable - Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times - Excellent facilitation skills - Exceptional project coordination and personnel management skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong computer skills (email, typing, use of Microsoft Office Suite) Closing date for applications: 20 March 2019
