Purpose of the Job The purpose to ensure that new and viable business opportunities, territories and target markets are identified to continually improve market share and presence globally: • Expanding the Client and Distributor base with new Distributors and Customers • Strategy to introduction of new products and promotional campaign • Persuading existing customers to stock new categories • Handing over new and existing customers to the Sales Team Functions of the Job The purpose will be achieved through the following Functions: • Finding/Identifying new customers, and customers who could become distributors in countries not covered, and in categories not covered in currently served countries • Motivating the development of products to suit well-researched and viable market needs • Managing communication, queries, complaints, problems of the customers and promoting their interests through the processes in the organisation by conducting surveys, etc.
• Managing (in the sense of forecasting, planning, monitoring and controlling), and assisting in management, of the process of assigning customers, markets, geographical areas and projects to individuals within the sales department • Managing, and assisting in the management of, the annual budgeting process.
• Benchmarking the Traffic Division (for both Components and Projects) against competitors, determining trends and scenarios, market opportunities and threats, (and divisional strengths and weaknesses in addressing them), and contributing to strategy • Managing process involved in exhibitions, marketing literature, promotions, etc.
Requirements of the Candidate Necessary: The Candidate must be: • Able and willing to travel at least 55 working days a year • Able to speak English • Able to communicate well with customers of varying nationalities and personalities at a high level • Able to grasp technical aspects of products • Educated to the extent of holding his/her own with tertiary educated customers and colleagues • In possession of a proven sales and marketing track record with in excess of 5 years experience and a formal sales qualification • Has experience in foreign markets • Computer literate, with e,phasis in Advanced Excel, Powerpoint and Word experience • Motivated, energetic, confident and goal orientated • Honest and reliable with commitment to good corporate governance Desirable: It would be advantageous if the candidate: • Had technical expertise or background • Had worked in industrial business development and marketing environment previously • Spoke at least one foreign language • Had previous supervisory/management experience • Has a higher marketing qualification, training or experience • Is creative, demonstrable through case histories • Is an HDI Read More...
