About the Position Strategically plan and improve supply chain effectiveness across the organization; ensure adequate funding for initiatives and drive logistics discipline efficiencies that support collaboration across all divisions within the Group Key Accountabilities: Financial Management - Develop and manage budget whilst achieving targets - Negotiate and maximize vender earning efficiencies - Manage DC cost calculations and adjust internal recoveries accordingly - Grow channel participation and increase value return to merchants People Management - Ensure induction and orientation of new staff - Recruitment and selection in line with employment equity targets - Performance management, evaluations and disciplinary action as required - Conduct monthly score card and one on one discussions with all staff - Staff rosters and schedules - Staff development and succession planning Strategy Assist with development of inbound supply chain plan to include : - Replenishment - Channel and network - Vendor engagement Operations Management - Manage vendors onboarding lead time - Improve channel strategy and empower merchants to move vendors into the correct channel Channel Effectiveness - Manage and improve replenishment order cycle, system support replenishment practices and alignment with physical logistics and stores - Optimise working capital through interventions with planning community - Improve visibility of inbound supply chain behaviours - Ensure effectiveness of logistics functions to lower cost, improve service and compliance - Drive supply chain activities that support and remove unnecessary nodes and intermediaries (both imports and local) Vendor Management - Increase overall JBP vendors fill rate performance - Reporting and communication on vendor performance - Manage vendor portal and EDI usage and compliance Relationship and Partnership Development - Manage distribution service levels on behalf of the business - Lead joint continuous improvement initiatives - Manage relationships and engage with counterparts in other divisions within the Group, supplier and service partner base. - Participate in the Group Supply Chain Forum, Import Strategy and Group Supply Chain projects - Leverage Group, supplier and service partner know-how - Handle, administer, process and distribute monetary resources such as stock in trade or merchandise
