Working Office / Remote Support to UK and Africa Warehouses and Sites Information Technology Remote (Cape Town or Johannesburg)Job Purpose : The Junior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on IT support across a hybrid environment—both remotely and onsite—for warehouses and operational sites in the UK and Africa. This role ensures the availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure, including networks, end-user devices, EPOS systems, and in-house applications. The engineer will also support software deployments, hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and user training, while maintaining strong relationships with operations teams and third-party service providers. The position requires flexibility, a proactive attitude, and the ability to respond to critical issues outside normal working hours on a rotation basis. Availability and capacity of IT equipment and systems in warehouses. Managing warehouse issues / concerns and liaising with operations team. Testing the EPOS (Tour Pos) Application (UAT / QA / LIVE). Setting and updating the live EPOS (Tour Pos) devices. Setting and updating crew training devices. Working closely with Pay Bay (Our Payment Company). Troubleshooting / Investigation systems and EPOS (Tour Pos) Issues. Carrying out repair work on EPOS (Tour Pos) devices. IT Operations Maintain relationship with our payment provider Pay Bay for software releases. Maintain relationship with our payment provider Pay Bay for repairs and maintain Procedures. Maintain internal relationships with warehouse and operations teams especially during software releases. Ownership and accountability of EPOS (Tour POS) reliability, and to put processes in place as necessary to maintain this. Proactive checking and servicing of EPOS (Tour POS) devices using an agreed and maintained checklist. Manage daily availability of the on-board EPOS system and peripherals including training equipment. Provide technical and user support on EPOS, in-house application support and user workstations. Perform daily checks of systems as instructed by manager. Manage assigned support tickets by updating and closing tickets as required. Ensure maintenance program for the EPOS systems, applications and constituent components are adhered to. Ensure replacement of components before life end or if damaged or otherwise rendered inoperable. Assist with training of operations staff processing EPOS and application support. Assist with testing of all software and hardware systems before deployment in a live Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) of a in house application and EPOS prior to roll outs of new software versions. Provide regular reports as instructed by manager. Undertake any other related duties as required by the line manager. Qualifications : Requirements : Matric / Grade 12 or A-Levels Relevant IT certification or diploma (advantageous)ITIL Certification (advantageous)Microsoft certification (MS 365, MCSE, MCSA, Cybersecurity, Azure fundamentals) or A+, N+ qualification Knowledge of Microsoft desktop products including Office, Office 365, particularly Outlook, - Share Point, One Drive and Teams Strong Microsoft Windows operating systems experience (Windows 10 and 11)Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software issues Experience working with and setting up laptops, desktops and printers Understanding of IT security principles and troubleshooting methodologies. Maintain user logins and security groups. Ensure that anti-virus software is deployed and updated on all servers and workstations. Assist with regularly testing a disaster recovery and business continuation plan. Maintain and enforce security policies on all servers and workstations. Ensure that all company data is backed up and recoverable. Out of Hours Support Ability to accept and respond to business-critical calls outside of normal working hours, with responsibility shared between all members of the IT team on a rotation basis.
