The Sales People is building a high-performance sales environment in Cape Town, and we’re looking for a leader to run it.
This is an internal leadership role within The Sales People, responsible for building and managing our sales floor and revenue operations in South Africa.
We hire, train and embed ambitious sales talent into VC-backed startups and high-growth tech companies. As we expand our presence in Cape Town, we’re looking for someone who can build the structure, culture and performance standards that power a world-class sales floor.
You will work closely with the founder (UK-based) to shape our go-to-market strategy, build a repeatable sales motion and lead the commercial growth of The Sales People locally.
This role combines hands-on selling, leadership and operational ownership.
You won’t be inheriting a finished system.
You’ll be helping build it.
What You’ll Do
As Head of Sales, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations and performance of our Cape Town sales floor.
You will:
Manage and run the sales floor environment, ensuring strong activity, focus and performance
Coach and develop SDRs and sales talent embedded with our tech clients
Contribute to the sales strategy and commercial growth of The Sales People
Build and manage pipeline from prospecting through to closing
Develop repeatable sales processes, playbooks and reporting
Help hire and develop the next generation of high-performing sales talent
This is a foundational leadership role with real ownership over how our sales operation grows in South Africa.

Has experience closing B2 B deals and leading revenue growth
Is comfortable running a high-performance sales floor

Wants to build something from scratch rather than inherit a team
Is both strategic and highly hands-on
Has some leadership/management experience and wants to take the next step up
We back ability, drive and ownership over polished CVs.
You’ll succeed here if you have:
~6+ years experience in B2 B sales
A proven track record of closing deals
Experience building pipeline through outbound prospecting
Strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills
Leadership ability and a passion for developing sales talent
Comfort operating in fast-moving startup environments
