About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager , to join our team in Jumeirah Thanda Safari . The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
- Overall responsible for Jumeirah Thanda Safari hospitality services which includes the Villas, Lodges, tents and safari experience.
- Establish and monitor guest service standards, gather feedback, and ensure a world-class experience for every guest.
- Collaborate and work with the General Manager, Reserve Operations. (Game Reserve)
- Develop and execute a commercial strategy, including revenue management and pricing, to maximize occupancy and profitability.
- Translate overall strategy into annual operational plans and monitor their execution.
- Prepare and monitor the property budget to identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with owner and Jumeirah on any potential refurbishments of the Asset.
- Create and implement a marketing strategy that distinguishes the property.
- Oversee the progress of the strategy and financial performance by reporting and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Manage daily hospitality operations, including room management, food and beverage, housekeeping, and support functions such as HR and Finance, while enhancing cost efficiency.
- Support the owner by ensuring preventive maintenance programs are in place and recommending capital projects when necessary.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners such as VIP guests, key suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Highly engage with the local community to maintain a positive social impact for the owner and property.
- Lead the recruitment, development, and performance management of direct reports to maintain high employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment standards by establishing and enforcing appropriate policies and procedures.
- Develop and enforce property policies and controls that support innovation and world-class service.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- 12 to 15 years of experience in luxury hospitality, ideally with an international luxury brand.
- Experience in managing similar Safari operations is a must.
- Desirable to have experience in managing similar type operations in Africa.
- A solid track record of successfully managing world-class properties and consistently achieving commercial targets in the luxury hospitality sector.
- Demonstrated international experience with a deep understanding of regional markets and operational requirements.
- Experience in hotel rebranding projects, ensuring a seamless transition while maintaining brand integrity.
- A well-established reputation within the hospitality industry, backed by an extensive network of influential contacts in the relevant market.
