We have an opportunity available in Sandton for a Road Freight Controller.
Candidates are expected to be able to perform the following: Co-ordinating and planning of all local procured cargoes and road freight to DRC for in-gauge and out of gauge (abnormal) cargoes. Co-ordinating and planning import RIT & RIB clearance for sea freight shipments, monitor shipment to ensure that containers do not incur demurrage costs. Liaise with the various Suppliers / LSP to ensure timeous upliftment of cargo. Planning of loads and maximising truck capacity to ensure that deadlines are met. Booking of trucks and sending out pre-alerts timeously. Arrange Marine Insurance / surveyor inspection when required. Track all shipments and update reports accordingly. Monitoring POD and send to client as proof of receipt. Make sure accuracy and timeline of RFQ. Make sure all
