Role Purpose

The Financial Manager will support the Group Financial Manager in group-wide reporting, taxation, alignment of policies and procedures, and the management of operational financial functions. This role also includes overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and reporting for four subsidiary companies, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. The Financial Manager is responsible for providing meaningful analysis and feedback on actual, forecasted, and budgeted financial figures to the Group Finance Manager and CFO, both in written and verbal formats. The role requires regular liaison with internal and external auditors as the primary point of contact. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, deadline-driven, and possess strong knowledge of IFRS Reporting Standards. Excellent communication skills, adaptability to a growing organization, and comfort with a manual reporting environment are essential.
Role Outputs

The responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly group financial reports, as well as reports for four subsidiaries in HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) - Actuals.
Review of subsidiaries' monthly HFM packs (both actual and budget).
Ensuring approval and posting of all journals, as well as reviewing reconciliations.
Approval of new creditors and invoices related to monthly expenses.
Releasing payments for monthly creditors.
Monthly management of the fixed asset process, including tax book management, depreciation, review of the fixed asset register, and checks between subledger and trial balances.
Drafting and collating responses for monthly movements to the finance team.
Reviewing responses to tax queries before submission to tax authorities.
Documenting and collating information related to IFRS 17

Insurance Contracts and its impact on the group.
Aligning the reconciliation framework for the group to a broader financial framework.
Providing comprehensive monthly analysis and feedback on individual company and group financial performance to the Group Finance Manager and CFO.
Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial management reports.
Assisting in the compilation of the groups annual financial statements.
Reviewing all subsidiary annual financial statements.
Coordinating group audits and compiling audit files.
Assisting in the preparation and management of the annual group budget.
Ensuring financial records comply with Full IFRS requirements.
Managing a team of four direct reports.
Preparation, review, and timely submission of group tax returns and payments (Income tax and VAT).
Managing the groups fleet card process and reconciliations.
Submitting the groups yearly insurance report.
Managing the groups credit card transactions and monthly allocations.
Performing ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications

CA (SA) qualification from a Big 4 audit firm.
First-time pass for Board I and II.
Knowledge and Experience

Strong technical knowledge of IFRS standards.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Post-articles experience is an advantage.
Experience with IFRS 4/17 Insurance Contracts is beneficial.
Experience using HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) is advantageous.
Experience using Oracle Financials is a plus.
Not mandatory but advantageous:
Experience in the insurance industry, whether post-articles or as an audit client during articles.
