Overview
A leading automotive group is seeking a Financial Director to lead its finance function. This is a senior leadership role suited to a commercially astute professional with strong expertise in Financial Management, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and Strategic Finance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and controlling the full financial function across the division, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving financial performance. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can provide strategic insight, optimise operational finance processes, and support executive decision‑making in a multi‑site environment.
Minimum Requirements Qualified CA(SA) with a minimum of 5 – 10 years’ commercial experience
Exposure and understanding of the Automotive industry essential
Proven experience in a senior Financial Management or Financial Director role
Strong expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Solid experience in cash flow management and financial risk management
Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
Strong leadership and people management experience
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards
Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements Main Responsibilities Providing and interpreting financial information
Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
Provide business information timeously and in a format that allows for quick accurate decision making.
Analyzing change and advising accordingly.
Formulating strategic and long‑term business plans.
Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
Analyzing competitors and market trends.
Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities.
Overall management of the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
First point of contact with liaising with internal and external auditors.
Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts.
Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts to specific deadlines.
Supervising, training and developing staff.
Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation. Ensure that the company is compliant.
