About the Role

The purpose of the role is to drive operational excellence while ensuring that the organisation remains committed to sustainability, balancing efficiency with environmental, social responsibility and governance issues.

Operational Efficiency

Streamlining Processes: Ensure that all aspects of the organisation’s operations run smoothly and efficiently. This involves optimising processes, reducing costs, and improving productivity across various departments.
Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilisation of resources, including human, financial, and material resources, to maximize efficiency and meet organisational goals.
Strategy Implementation: Contribute to or leading the development of operational strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives
Governance and Sustainability

Environmental Stewardship: The sustainability aspect of the role focuses on reducing the organisation’s environmental impact as a business case for clients and for the organisation. This includes implementing eco-friendly practices, reducing waste, and managing energy use.
Sustainable Business Practices: The role also involves integrating sustainability into the core business practices, ensuring that the company’s growth is aligned with long-term environmental societal and governance goals.
Compliance and Reporting: Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and reporting on ESG metrics to stakeholders.
Work with the Finance Manager in building resilience in the value chain
As member of the ESG committee, participate actively in all ESG related activities.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

Prepare orders per Customer requirements following internal procedures.
Ensure all equipment dispatched is completed to order specification.
Update spreadsheets with details of ordered equipment.
Perform Quality Control on assessed and prepared equipment.
Provide Technical Support on laptops, desktops, and related equipment as and when required.
Perform Onsite assessment & data erasure as and when required.
Perform BIOS update across various OEM’s including laptop, desktops, and all related assets.
Assist receiving department with all related technical questions on returned assets.
Assist other areas and departments when required, may be out of normal work scope.
Strip, Clean and Rebuild returned assets before assessment.
Inspect assets for aesthetic defects, hardware configuration and OS set-up.
Perform assessment on all returned assets (Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Networking Equipment).
Perform Data Erasure on all returned assets using internal systems.
Perform Level 1 repairs on Desktop PCs & Laptops as and when required.
Perform equipment maintenance when required.
Core Responsibilities

Operations Management

Analysing productivity data and optimising staffing and production capacity
Stay up to date with industry trends and practices including risks and opportunities in the sector
Design new processes to improve quality or increase productivity or profitability
Manage stock control and inventory checks.
Communicate changes in order processes to relevant parties.
Ensure compliance to health and safety regulations.
Document procedures for third-party monitoring.
Create and monitor project and teams.
Review workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met.
Support the Managing Executive or executive team’s vision and strategy.
Financial Management

Managing departmental budgets
Optimise stock holding in line with stockholding targets
Devise creative ways on unlocking cash tied in inventory
Staff Leadership and Management

Resource teams adequately to achieve business and operational targets.
Manage the effective achievement of company group objectives through effective leadership, the setting of individual objectives, managing performance, and developing and motivating team to maximise performance.
Build and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development.
Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary.
Define roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team.
Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program within the business unit to achieve business targets
Performance manage resources in accordance with relevant policy and legislation
Promote an ‘company centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to developing strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance.
Governance, Risk and Business Continuity Management

Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place and in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures and reporting structures.
Continually assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Stay up to date of new trends and innovations in operations.
Manage business risk, through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs.
Lead and guide improvement projects that will increase profits or protect against risks in the function.
External Parties and Relationship Management

Oversee relationship with service providers and ensure all the services are delivered properly, evaluate the performance of consultants and report any deviations to the relevant department for any corrective actions.
Work closely with other heads of departments to improve efficiency

Candidate Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Minimum of a Business Management or Engineering degree
Management/Leadership program will be advantageous
Postgraduate qualification in business or equivalent for degree holders with no commercial qualification
Years of Experience

At least 8 years of experience in an operational role with a demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on expectations
At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management role.
