Job Purpose To supplement the skillset and offering of the existing SLR Africa Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineering teams with a specific focus on mine closure assessments, strategies and plans.
Minimum Requirements: 3 - 5 years of experience in a consulting environment Project management experience BSc. Engineering/Environmental Science or similar Experience with GIS software and analysis of spatial data would be an advantage Proficient in Word, Excel Valid driver’s license Must be willing to travel Professional registration would be an advantage Offshore Oil & Gas Closure experience will be an advantage Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Manage closure related projects- providing support to Business Lead Consult and collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders to provide solutions for clients Calculate mine, oil & gas and industrial closure costs that meet all requirements Liaison with clients and financial auditors to address closure liability queries Develop and implement closure project plans, in consultation with clients, to guide decommissioning and rehabilitation activities Conduct audits and reviews of closure plans and liability assessments Plan and execute site visits Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients Skills/ Attributes: Sound writing and communication skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team Strong report writing skills. Strong organisational and planning skills.
