Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with
IFRS 17
and other relevant reporting standards.
Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
Support the implementation and refinement of IFRS 17 processes and reporting tools.
Collaborate with actuarial, risk, and finance teams to gather, interpret, and report complex data.
Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Assist in the preparation of audit packs and engage with internal and external auditors.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all financial reports and disclosures.
Requirements
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
registration with SAICA is essential.
Minimum of 35 years post-articles experience, preferably within the
insurance or financial services industry.
Proven working knowledge and
hands-on experience with IFRS 17.
Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or Oracle Financials advantageous.
Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
