Job Description
Your day-to-day duties will include but not limited to: Responsible for developing relevant category strategies for Process Chemicals & MRO, support input to business cases, plans to ensure security of supply, the advancement of supplier partnering that drives innovation and value, compile and execute sourcing events, support negotiations, establish and execute contracts. Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities. Project management of key initiatives. Support the development of the broader category portfolio strategy, value creation plans and business cases by providing relevant data, analysis, opportunity assessments and market intelligence. Understand regional strategic priorities and develop relevant Category Management plans to support business needs and improved value delivery with a focus on cost reduction, working capital and TCO initiatives. Implement value creation and supplier engagement plans that align to the overall Supply Chain strategy, critical tasks, performance targets and Company/ Site priorities Develop and manage relationships with strategic suppliers, to drive step change in value and deliver innovative solutions that position as a partner of choice Participate in negotiations with finalizing GFAs (General Framework Agreements) and related Contract Amendments. Optimize value through innovation, risk mitigation and growth throughout the relationship life cycle Plan, schedule, resource and execute activities relating to relevant contracts in category portfolio Identify, enable & track value and inclusive procurement opportunities, commercial initiatives and specific resource requirements and category management targets. Provide input into the relevant budget and resource requirements and category management targets. Provide input into the relevant budget and resource requirements Accountable for the contact over its life-cycle and ensure contract administration and performance management activities are executed timely and with quality Ensure the effective and efficient execution of contracts management activities for allocated portfolio (including the loading of finalized contracts onto the system to enable transactions)Manage the implementation of bespoke agreements that outline innovation, joint development, technical, commercial, relationship and performance expectations Support the Supply Chain Management function with on-site implementation of end-to-end commercial activities and the resolution of escalated issues Implement value opportunities and assist with the resolution of risks and identification of risk mitigation solutions pertaining to the portfolio Understand community specific needs and identify value creation opportunities to address these Drive a culture of community development and inclusive procurement with stakeholders that are aligned to the Inclusive Procurement strategies Responsible for providing input to and delivering against inclusive procurement and commercial plans to ensure targets are met against scheduled milestones Implement an Inclusive Procurement programme that will increase host community commercial participation and support the development of thriving communities Embed clear Inclusive Procurement expectations, targets and initiatives in commercial agreements Support the Inclusive Procurement team to identify supplier development needs and opportunities, and support the development of solutions Build and maintain relationships with materials management and warehousing teams to ensure alignment on future demand requirements, working capital optimization opportunities and the resolution of supplier non-performance Support Materials Planning in alignment with Physical Supply Chain This role is at a Band 6/12 level reporting to the Category Manager
Qualifications Grade 12 An undergraduate qualification - Bachelor degree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce/Supply Chain Management supported with technical expertise; and/or Technical degree level, eg. Mining/Chemical engineering supported with commercial expertise A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (Commerce/Supply Chain Management/Chemical Engineering/Mining Engineering) OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity Valid driver's license code B will be advantageous​​​​​​Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant category management experience in the Process Chemicals & MRO category. Technical knowledge (experience) required for role: Good technical knowledge across the SC value chain Ability to integrate Commercial, PSC, Supplier Management & Purchasing sub disciplines Safety & Sustainability as it relates to Supply Chain & Inclusive Procurement Good commercial, negotiation and deal-making, business case development, investment appraisal Category Management, sourcing & contracting with Total Cost Ownership approach Supplier Relationship Management Business Planning, Business Case development Working knowledge of regional and local Inclusive Procurement requirements Developing skills in business and local inclusive procurement requirements
