Job Purpose

Responsibilities
- Staff management, service delivery, profitability, and expanding the services offered to current and prospective clients.
- Coordinate resources that are insourced through a network of independent consultants, or from international colleagues in the wider group, if additional specialist skills should be required.
- Manage the performance of the engagement team.
- Capacity building at the staff level.
- Meet with the CEO and the Chairperson as required.
- Provide feedback on progress and projects to the Head of Assurance on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Recruit and retain the best people.
- Lead, energize, and inspire people.
- Empower staff and train others.
- Mentor others and provide mentors for staff members.
- Set an example for staff by living the values of the firm and lead from the front.
Strategy:
- Develop a fit-for-purpose strategy for the firm.
- Participate in the evaluation of the performance and management of the service line and own teams, including monitoring activities and performance.
- Plan, monitor, and implement strategic projects allocated to the Technical Service division.
People / Talent
- Drive the implementation of talent management policies and processes for mentees.
- Ensure the development of mentees in the organization to be technical experts, managing talent acquisition, succession planning, and career management.
- Comply with governance structures to achieve organizational strategies.
- Provide strategic direction to mentees and align people to the strategy.
- Communicate the vision and strategy of the organization to all mentees and personnel in the service line.
- Implement and monitor performance management processes for mentees, including managing out poor performers.
- Set clearly defined KPIs for mentees.
- Manage the capacity requirements of assignments to ensure optimal capacity is not exceeded.
- Coach mentees to become effective business leaders.
- Ensure the development of high-performing teams in the service line.
- Assist the service line leader in identifying a strong leadership pipeline.
- Ensure effective succession planning for the service line.
- Ensure that the partner-to-staff ratio is appropriate on assignments.
- Implement the organization's reward and recognition policies.
- Identify key strengths of the engagement teams on assignments and leverage those strengths.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with the Managing Director on matters relating to the portfolio.
- Engage with the internal Policy committee, EXCO, and Extended EXCO on allocated responsibilities as required.
Innovation
- Drive innovation to distinguish the firm from competitors.
- Create developmental opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to engage in necessary research and formulate strategic approaches.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified CA(SA).
- Registered Auditor.
- A minimum of 10 years of audit experience.
- 5 to 10 years in Associate Director / Executive Management / Director roles in an audit firm.

- Experience building effective working relationships with senior management.
- Ability to achieve ownership among senior management through assertiveness, influencing skills, and thorough knowledge of relevant facts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both face-to-face and in writing, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly to a non-technical audience.
- Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to manage both short-term imperatives and long-term planning.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a small team.
- Strong project management, change, and business leadership skills demonstrated through visible commitment to the values.
- The creation and ongoing development of a high-performing team, collaborating effectively with senior colleagues from Finance and Creative communities.
- Enthusiasm, resilience, drive, and commitment, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
- General knowledge of Balanced Scorecards as a tool to measure performance.
