A well-established and fast‑paced large‑format printing and production business is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead and optimise its screen printing, digital printing and finishing operations. This senior operational role is ideally suited to a technically strong production professional with proven leadership experience within the printing, POS, retail display, signage or branding sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operational performance, production efficiency, quality control, staffing, maintenance, and profitability of a multi‑process print production facility.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily, weekly and monthly production planning across screen printing, digital printing and finishing departments
Allocate production efficiently based on machine capability, turnaround requirements, substrate suitability and cost optimisation
Oversee all technical printing operations including screen preparation, ink management, colour consistency, RIP workflows and print quality
Ensure production schedules, quality standards and delivery deadlines are consistently achieved
Lead and manage cross‑functional production teams including printing, finishing, stores and dispatch
Implement and maintain production tracking systems, workflow improvements and lean manufacturing practices
Drive preventative maintenance programmes and minimise equipment downtime
Monitor stock control, consumables and production waste management
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
Analyse production performance, identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Manage factory budgets, labour efficiencies and production costing Minimum Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Printing Technology, Production/Operations Management, Engineering or related field
7–10 years’ experience within a printing or manufacturing environment
Minimum 4–5 years in a senior supervisory or management role
Strong experience within both screen and digital printing operations
Sound knowledge of colour management systems, ICC profiling and print quality control
Experience with RIP software such as Caldera, Onyx or Wasatch
Proven leadership ability with strong operational and problem‑solving skills
Ability to perform effectively in a deadline‑driven production environment Key Competencies
