EOSH Coordinator Job Location: Gqeberha Minimum Requirements:

BSc degree or Bachelor degree in Environment, Safety Occupational Health, Risk Management, Environment Management and/or Food Technology Diploma/ BTech in Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry or Microbiology.

Minimum: National Diploma in Safety and Risk Management - NEBOSH.

SAMTRAC NOSA Safety qualification.

Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001

Minimum three years in a food processing environment doing work in EOSH.

Preferably experience as a safety and environmental auditor or inspector.

Two years in a business systems environment, manufacturing.

Key Competencies:

Advanced skills in required software packages. Excel Word, Power Point.

Broad conceptual understanding of the integration of processes within supply chain and the total business.

Problem solving.

Understand ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 system.

Understands and uses basic technology as a tool in staff communication;

Has awareness of quality in all organizational processes; looks at complete processes of department and combines them into one working process.

Performs and facilitates execution of administrative activities and procedures for the effective execution of own role.

Ability to negotiate in competition with other functions and business units for the deployment of resources.

Ability to hold self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely and cost-effective results and keeping commitments.

The ability to focus on appropriate detail.

Ability to create trust and build a network of relationships with other employees and management.

Uses analysis, wisdom, experience, and logical methods to make good decisions and solve difficult problems with effective solutions;

Appropriately incorporates multiple inputs to establish shared ownership and effective action.

Ability to develop and sustain routine work for long periods of time.

The ability to seek and consider all possible and relevant information conceptualise problems for problem solving and decision making with due regard to long and short term implications.

Key Responsibilities: Guide and Influence Understanding and Implementation of EOSH Systems

Write procedures as needed to strengthen the EOS Systems and implement those.

Keep an updated Risk Assessment portfolio for the plant and contractors on site.

Where unsafe work practices and unsafe conditions have been identified, is responsible to work with Process Owners to correct this.

Work with Senior management to ensure building of Safety Culture in the organisation with active participation and management of safety campaigns, including tracking of implementation data.

Manage People and Processes to ensure compliance with EOSH Systems

Ensures that everyone in the organisation apply legal EOSH requirements as well as internal plant and company procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks.

Ensures that EOSH and housekeeping receive appropriate focus through regular checks /walkabouts and EOSH audits.

Ensure effective EOSH communication in the plant, to external warehouses, and distribution centres

Ensure EOSH training is conducted for all levels in all functions.

EOSH induction of new employees, visitors and contractors conducted.

Maintain and ensure compliance with EOSH requirements, regulations and policies and effective management of EOSH systems

Ensures implementation of the appropriate and legislative policies on EOSH and housekeeping.

Coordinate and administer the EOSH committee meeting.

Report incidents as required by legislation

Updated EOSH statistics/incident. Calculate the LTIFR and other statistics and present to Management as required

Updated EPM statistics to Group office. (Argentina)

Schedule & organize legal surveys and audits and implementation of action plans.

Assist all functions with writing of procedures and updating of EOSH documents.

Proactively entrench EOSH systems

Construct a EOSH system implementation and maintenance plan in liaison with SHEQ Manager, Business Systems Coordinator and Engineering Department.

Enforce compliance to local legal, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

Coordinate and ensure review of plant risk assessment with Process Owners

Ensure the logging and closing of corrective actions applicable to the EOSH system

Ensure incident investigations are done for all incidents.
