Brief description of the vacancy:

Our client is looking for an experienced & qualified electrician with dosing, chlorination, and pumping solutions experience in a Water & Wastewater Plant environment.
• Will be always working with an assistant
• Tools and Equipment supplied
• Company Vehicle and Cell phone supplied

Experience required:

• 5 + Years post trade test experience a must
• Experience in a Water / Wastewater Plant environment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Solution driven person
• Administrative Experience – Job Cards, Risk Assessments, Health and Safety Checks…
• Strong reporting capabilities

Skills required:

• Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and industrial equipment.
• Problem-solving: - Ability to diagnose and fix complex electrical issues.
• Attention to Detail - Precision in following codes, standards, and technical drawings.
• Physical Fitness - Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
• Communication - Good verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and documentation.
• Safety Awareness - In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications required:

• Trade test
• Beyond trade test courses (N-courses)
• Health and Safety courses would be beneficial
• Wiremans License will be an advantage

Computer Skills required:

• Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excell, Word
• Whats App as a reporting and communication tool

Other requirements
• Driver's License (will be using a company vehicle)
• No Vehicle accidents in the last 12 months
• Willing to work on a Standby Basis (1 week on, 1 week off) - Paid
• Willing to work overtime - Paid• Clear Criminal and ITC Records
• Willing to undergo occupational health checks annually
• Willing to get Infectious disease vaccinations (Due to working in a water and waste water environment)

Responsibilities

• Installation and Maintenance
• Install electrical systems, components, and equipment, including wiring, circuits, and fixtures.
• Regularly inspect and maintain electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce the likelihood of equipment failure.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs:
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial machinery and systems.
• Repair or replace faulty wiring, components, or equipment.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
• Follow strict safety protocols to protect oneself and others from electrical haards.
• Conduct safety inspections and implement measures to prevent electrical accidents.
• Reading Blueprints and Schematics:
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Plan and layout the installation of electrical systems based on these documents.
• Working with Automation and Control Systems:
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other control systems.
• Program and configure VSD’s & Soft Starters to optimize industrial processes.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or apprentices.
• Document all work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair records.
