Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate electrical design teams
Ensure project schedule and budget adherence
Ensure design quality and compliance with client and statutory requirements
Review and approve electrical designs and calculations
Perform electrical network studies and protection grading
Liaise with clients, vendors, and internal disciplines
Oversee FAT and SAT activities Commitment & Authorisations
Authorised to approve electrical deliverables
Authorised to adjudicate vendor bids
Authorised to validate compliance to IEC/SABS standards Objectives of the function
Deliver safe and compliant electrical designs
Ensure multi-disciplinary alignment
Lead heavy-current design activities
Mentor junior staff
Support commissioning and site execution Mission and tasks
Lead electrical engineering for EPC/EPCM projects
Perform electrical network studies and protection grading
Design HV, MV and LV substations and overhead lines
Develop electrical specifications and technical documentation
Perform SCADA and communication system functional design
Conduct hazardous area classification studies
Oversee FAT and SAT activities
Perform field engineering (lighting, earthing, cable routing, cathodic protection)
Ensure compliance with IEC/SABS and client specifications
Review and approve engineering outputs Skills
Strong multi-disciplinary engineering understanding
HV/MV/LV design expertise
Strong communication and reporting ability

6+ years in Oil & Gas
