Location-- Remote/ /Contract Role - Security Analytics Data Engineer Functional Area: Security Data Engineering & Analytics Introduction: Neem Consulting is seeking a Senior Security Analytics Data Engineer to support acybersecurity transformation programme through analytics-driven insights and automation.
This contract role will help extend and maintain an enterprise-grade ETL pipeline and Azure-based Data infrastructure to support a growing Security team.
The successfulcandidate will help ensure visibility, control alignment, and metric-based reporting acrosssecurity operations, while contributing to performance and scalability enhancements.
Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance an existing ETL pipeline (primarily R/tidyverse) on Ubuntu VMManage data flows across Azure services, including ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory,and Azure SQLSupport Power BI datasets and dashboards, troubleshoot issues, and implementfeature updates Support the development of new data analytics projects led by Security leadership Manage R and SQL codebases using Azure Dev Ops (version control, branching, etc.)Ingest and integrate operational and security-related datasets using APIs Collaborate with the Security team to align analytics with tooling, monitoring, and controlframeworks Contribute to optimisation initiatives, process improvements, and pipeline redesign.
Essential Skills and Experience: Solid background in data engineering or data operations with strong ETL and SQL skills Experience working in Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred)Strong familiarity with Azure Data components: ADLS, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory Proficiency with SQL and a good grasp of database admin concepts Experience managing data pipelines, cron jobs, and automated workflows Ability to work independently and manage operational workload Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences Familiarity with APIs and integrating structured/unstructured data sources Desirable Skills and Experience: Prior experience with R and Tidyverse libraries for data manipulation and visualisation Exposure to information security operations or familiarity with security controlsframeworks Experience using Azure Dev Ops for code management and deployment Comfortable contributing to clean, well-documented, and maintainable codebases Knowledge of Power BI report development and dataset management Naturally build customer relationships and lead them through the processes necessary to deliver robust solutions.
