Strategic Business Unit: Operations Job Title: Consultant Report to: Account Manager Role description: Key focus is new customer implementations as well as retention of our customer base through a personalized management approach, focused on the optimal use of the technology in the client's unique operating environment.
A range of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are critical to ensure the solutions are effectively used and maintained.
The individual needs to be able to identify opportunities and be responsible for managing projects, resources and/or the implementation of the various software solutions and/or service contracts for new and existing customers.
Key duties below: Manage Distribution planners and Expeditors including job activities, outputs, and administration.
Delivery of high quality and implementable strategic exercises e.g.
Fleet mix, Service Day assignment, Customer to DC allocation etc.
Ensure that new ideas are generated and implemented at the existing customers.
Project management and implementation of software and managed services.
Ensure that the value proposition is realised after implementation.
Ensure that all administrative duties are executed: All expenses & claims are submitted on time.
Billable hours are to be adhered to by Distribution planners and Expeditors.
All leave is to be approved and signed off timeously.
Driving progress meetings with clients.
Liaising with technical, BA and Operational teams to conceptualise, spec and test developed features of the software.
Resolve all escalated issues raised by Customers, Distributions planners and Expeditors.
Skills required: Organisational skills – Ability to manage issues independently and in a methodical manner, always following up on issues until the point of resolution.
Ability to work under pressure.
Product knowledge – It is important to understand the solution to the extent that any questions can be answered confidently, the solution can be implemented successfully, and the solution can be used to conduct consulting work.
Process understanding – It is crucial to be able to understand complex supply chain echo systems and how various technology platforms must integrate with each other to deliver value to the client.
Ownership – It is critical to take full ownership and take pride in your work.
Attention to detail – Must have above average data analysis skills and understand data.
People management skills – Ability to individually manage a variety of personalities.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Conflict management.
Presentation skills –Must be able to present work completed professionally.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
