Senior Cloud Engineer - Renewable 12 Month Contract role We're seeking a Senior Cloud Engineerto play a pivotal role in shaping, scaling, and securing our technology platforms.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership position ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and system reliability.
You'll lead critical infrastructure initiatives, set technical direction, and act as a mentor to the platform engineering team—while collaborating closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align technology with business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Strategy & Design Lead the development of the organization's infrastructure strategy Design scalable, reliable, and resilient technology platforms Partner with senior leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with business objectives Cloud Platform Leadership Provide expert-level leadership in managing and optimizing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Define and enforce best practices for cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization Automation & Orchestration Excellence Lead the design and maintenance of advanced automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar Implement robust orchestration workflows to automate complex deployments and configurations Performance Optimization & Scalability Oversee system performance tuning and capacity planning Lead infrastructure scaling initiatives to support business growth and evolving requirements Security & Compliance Leadership Establish and enforce security standards and compliance frameworks across infrastructure components Lead efforts to maintain a secure, compliant, and resilient technology environment Team Leadership & Mentorship Provide technical leadership to the platform engineering team Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement Incident Response & Problem Solving Lead incident response and participate in complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis Proactively identify risks and address potential issues to ensure system stability and uptime Education & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology , or a related field8+ years of experience in platform engineering, system administration, or a related role Expert proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)Extensive experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code Deep expertise in cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, or GCP ) and advanced cloud services Strong hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD pipelines , version control systems (e.g., Git), and modern Dev Ops practices Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles , networking concepts, and protocols Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and collaborate across the organization Relevant cloud or platform engineering certifications Why Join Us?This is an opportunity to lead at scale—working on complex, mission-critical systems, influencing technical strategy, and mentoring engineers in a modern cloud-first environment.
