Client is a multi-disciplinary company with head office in Umhlanga, South Africa and branches around RSA as well as Mauritius, Kenya and the UK. Our services include engineering, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management consulting and town planning. Our Civil Engineering Division is looking for a Civil Engineer or Technologist to be based at our Umhlanga office.
Applicants must be:
A Graduate in BSc Civ Eng / B Eng (Civils) or B Tech (Civil Eng) or must be already registered or close to being as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng
ECSA Registration certificate or Engineer in Training certificate to accompany application
The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:
Leadership skills underpinned by strong technical ability.
Should be looking to make a final move for a long-term career with Client.
Minimum 5 years’ technical experience and 1-2 years’ team leadership experience (most of which in a consulting engineering firm)
Experience in:
Roads, earthworks, storm water and sewer - essential
Storm water management
Pump station design (both sewer and water supply) desirable.
Other required skills, abilities and behaviours:
Must be active in the design field and proficient in use of MS Office, Autocad Civil 3 D (essential) and IDAS an advantage
Knowledgeable in Hec-ras, GIS, PCSWMM or similar an advantage
Knowledgeable in Thekweni standards an advantage
Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
Accurate – with strong attention to detail
Confident, with strong interaction / people skills
Dynamic and driven – yet humble
Even tempered
Team player
Key result areas (technical and managerial):
Technical expertise on civils projects
Deliver complete projects through the full project life cycle would be an advantage

Mentorship of junior engineers
Must have a driver’s license and be willing to travel to sites in SA and Africa if required.
