We’re supporting a client who needs an experienced Backend Engineer (Node.js) to help clear a growing support and development backlog.
This role would suit someone who is comfortable jumping into an existing codebase, quickly understanding the architecture, and shipping fixes and improvements without a long ramp-up period.
You’ll be working alongside an internal team but operating at a more senior level than a typical support developer , helping unblock issues, resolve technical debt and keep development moving. What you'll be doing Picking up and resolving items from the backend support backlog
Debugging and fixing production issues in a Node.js environment
Improving performance and stability across existing services
Supporting the internal engineering team with backend improvements
Shipping pragmatic solutions quickly and safely What we’re looking for Able to become productive very quickly Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience working in remote, distributed teams
Using modern AI development tools is expected in this role .
You should already be comfortable using tools such as:
Cursor
Git Hub Copilot or similar
These are part of the development workflow and help accelerate delivery.
