Overview

Hire Resolve is on the lookout for a driven and skilled Civil Senior Engineer to become an integral part of our client’s team. This role entails overseeing and managing civil engineering projects from inception through to finalization.

Responsibilities:

1. Planning, leading, managing, and monitoring civil engineering projects from inception to closeout.
2. Co-ordinating and managing the design team effectively.
3. Undertaking detailed designs of complex aspects and providing mentorship to the design team.
4. Reviewing designs and drawings meticulously to ensure correctness.
5. Implementing cost control measures and providing reporting as necessary.
6. Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team comprising civil engineers, drafters, and technicians.
7. Overseeing the entire design and construction phases of civil engineering projects.
8. Ensuring strict compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
9. Preparing and reviewing technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules.
10. Facilitating seamless coordination among clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
11. Offering technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers within the team.
12. Monitoring project progress diligently and ensuring timely completion.
13. Conducting site visits and inspections as per project requirements.

Requirements:

1. 15 years of experience in a civil engineering consultancy design office.
2. Proficiency in the water sanitation field, encompassing bulk water and bulk sanitation.
3. Competence in contract administration, with experience in NEC3/4 being advantageous.
4. Familiarity with general municipal services is an added advantage.
5. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, alongside Pr. Eng registration with ECSA.
6. Pr CPM certification is an added advantage.
7. Strong grasp of civil engineering principles and practices.
8. Demonstrated experience in project management and leadership roles.
9. Proficiency in Auto CAD and other relevant design software.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
