Assistant to the Director (Grade 11)

We are seeking a highly capable professional to provide high-level support to the HR Director. The role requires exceptional organisational skills, discretion in handling sensitive matters, and the ability to coordinate complex schedules and communications at a senior level.
Responsibilities
To work closely with the Director to provide high-level administrative and front-line support, enabling the Director to effectively support the academic project and serve the University in the execution of responsibilities, duties, and tasks to meet strategic objectives. The Assistant will proactively understand and keep up to date with the division’s activities, coordinate meetings, manage the Director’s diary, projects and project timelines, and liaise with stakeholders as required to ensure the smooth operation of the Director’s office.
Qualifications and Experience
A B. Degree (NQF level 7, preferably in human resources) or equivalent plus approximately four (4) years relevant experience where such experience includes:

Ability to manage busy and complex calendars and/or meetings where there are competing priorities, ensuring seamless logistics are in place. Demonstrates sound judgement when prioritising issues.
Demonstrable ability to proactively solve problems. Can anticipate challenges and propose solutions.
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly, confidentially, discreetly, with maturity, and professionally. Able to communicate clearly and diplomatically.
Previous experience and/or demonstrable ability to write reports and analyse data.
Human‑resource‑related administrative experience and/or working with an HR management information system would be advantageous. Remuneration
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R424 059
