Purpose To contribute towards strengthening electoral democracy processes by assisting in coordinating and implementing the voting and results programmes of the Electoral Commission at voting station level.
Duties and responsibilities Conduct all related voting and results activities.
Conduct or assist with collection of addresses.
Conduct or assist with completion of forms.
Conduct or assist with operation of the Voter Management Device (VMD)Tidy or assist with tidying the voting station before and after voting.
Sign or oversee the signing of attendance register as confirmation of attendance.
Conduct yourself in a professional and impartial manner.
Safeguard IEC materials.
Conduct or assist with queue management at the voting station.
Prioritize voters with special needs.
Conduct or assist with counting of votes.
Conduct or assist with roll-back related tasks.
Skills and Competencies Must be proficient in any of the local languages of the municipality.
Professional and courteous conduct.
Must be an SA citizen.
Must be a registered voter.
In the last five years must not have held political office or been a candidate in an election or have been politically active for a political party or campaigning for a political party.
In the last five years must not have been elected to office in an organisation that has party political affiliations or aims.
As far as possible, must have some training or professional/administrative experience.
